An instrument, not an app. Engineering hairline grid, machined panels, monospace data, safety amber used the way it is used on real equipment, which is only where something matters. This direction sells precision, which is the product's actual claim.
The circle split by a perforation, rendered as a machined part. The solid half is a milled face, the perforation is a punched seam, and the outline half is the open aperture. It is drawn on the same 88px grid as everything else.
Graphite and steel do the work. Amber is a warning colour and is rationed accordingly, appearing only on the primary action, the total, and the mark. Signal red is failure. Go green is confirmation. There are no other colours.
Contrast on graphite: Mist 11.2:1, Panel 12.6:1, Concrete 5.6:1, Amber 9.8:1, Go 8.4:1, Signal 4.6:1. All pass AA for body. Signal is used at 14px and above only.
Archivo for display, run wide. It is a grotesque built from American sign and form-printing lettering, which is exactly the ancestry this direction wants. IBM Plex Sans for reading and IBM Plex Mono for data, because Plex was drawn as an engineering family and the two stay in step at small sizes.
A calibration badge rather than a rubber stamp. It carries the block it was granted at, and the four tick marks read as an instrument dial.
Applied square, no rotation. Industrial equipment labels are never crooked.

The scan
While a hash resolves, a 1px amber line sweeps the field at a constant rate. It stops the instant the chain answers, mid-travel, without easing out.
The latch
The seal appears in 3 discrete steps over 120ms using steps(3,end). It does not fade or scale.
The readout
Numbers arrive character by character in mono, 18ms per character, left to right. Only for the settlement rate, only once.
Risk to manage: dark plus amber plus mono is close to the crypto-terminal cliché. What keeps it out is the 88px drafting grid, registration marks, real spec tables and the total absence of glow. No neon, no scanlines, no drop shadows on text.
